I'm really thinking of joining. I would love to be able to be a part of something that gives back to the community. There is somuch potential!
From the outside you would proberbly write it off. And the interior could use a face lift... But, the people were very friendly and the food was suprisingly good! To top it off... the price was amazing. What a deal!
My Father became an Elk last year and when he came to visit we went to the Marathon Lodge for dinner and drinks.
On a recent trip to Marathon my wife became ill and developed some serious mobility issues. My sister-in law who was traveling with us remembered that in the past on a trip to Florida her father developed a need for a wheel chair and a local Elks Lodge provided one for him. One call to this local lodge in Marathon and we were told to stop by and the chair would be waiting for us. We did and my wife was able to use it for the rest of our vacation. Thanks so much to those at the lodge!
My boyfriend and I were the youngest people there, but I think it is possible to get a younger crowd intrested.
Good food good drinks.
