I am very happy with the full service the guys provide in Keys Cycles. I initially took my motorcycle for an oil change and without me pointing out that I was also having a bit of a problem with the clutch they fixed it, now that going above and beyond. I was very happy with the way the motorcycle was running afterwards. The second time around I took it to have the front and rear tire replaced and they got me the best brand at the best price :). I don't hesitate on taking my bike for service to the guys at Keys Cycles in Marathon, they are the best on what they do.
Note:
Worst experience I've ever had on vacation. started out with a phone call 2 months prior to reserve of motorcycle. they told me over the phone it would be a $100 deposit. I gave the guy my credit card numbers and noticed on my bank statement he charged me $700. when I arrived I asked him about that and he said it was $100 per day. At this time he informs me he needs $1,000 deposit and other fees In a smart alec manner as he says, i'm not going to screw you over Dude. I'm already $700 in the hole and no choice but to move forward. 3 days later the Harley quit running on the 7 Mile Bridge. I called the shop and fuzzy was there in a timely manner. we loaded the bike, got in the truck as he began telling me that I'm an idiot. I don't know how to ride and started cussing me. I did cuss back at him and he continued to tell me that he's holding my credit card and if that motor is blowed, he is going to charge me for it. He tells me that he will not give me another bike as replacement. He refused to give me a ride three miles down the road to my motel room. told me to call a cab. At this time I called the rental car companies and they were all sold out due to lobster season. from here we ard stranded, other than the local cab companies which was charging me $175 one way to Key West. I did speak with the local cab drivers about it and they informed me that fuzzy has lived there his whole life and has always been hotheaded. as she continued to tell me that he has threatened to whoop her twenty-six-year-old younger brother. I did inform fuzzy, that I own my own business back home, that it is obvious he is jumping the gun as he asked me to leave his store. I would recommend to be highly cautious and be ready for the threats if anything happened to go wrong.
Mr. Qualls didn't do that. He rode the bike for 1 1/2 days with the motorcycle throwing warning codes. Finally, the bike broke down on a very dangerous bridge with no shoulder on the busiest weekend in the Keys. Mr. Qualls was very belligerent about the entire affair, retorting that he ignores all codes on his Harley so he didn't feel the need to honor his contract with us. Therefore we treated this as a breach of contract, refunding him his balance, crediting the remainder towards his favor, not ours. Mr. Qualls refused to come in for the refund, & refused to bring us the motorcycle key. We had to jump through Mr. Qualls additional hoops in order to make the refund happen, as well as travel to pick up the key. All unnecessary in our opinion.
These guys have lost a excellent customer for I value my wife's life and feel that we and the bike both shine the most when the operator is extremely cautious and respects the people around them.
A response is in order. T dog first cancelled his rental just prior to the pick up date. Rather than deny a refund of deposit as per policy, we accommodated Mr. Qualls with a reschedule. Then when he was to show up the 2nd time, he called to cancel & reschedule again. And again, we accommodated Mr. Qualls rather than retain his deposit. Our website states clearly what our policy & pricing is. Please note, as per our website, the deposit is $100/day. We apologize for Mr. Qualls' failure to understand this.
I would like to add that I have Road from Indiana to South Dakota and back, three separate times. which is over 3000 miles in one week for each trip. Not to mention that I have Road from Indiana to Washington DC on up to New York and back. I have trophies and medals from rodeos to where I have won one, the best of the best as far as far as riding goes.
It is further made clear, verbally & written in the agreement, in the event of any warning light, error codes, or other problems with any motorcycle - the customer has the responsibility of contacting us immediately so we can bring another motorcycle to them right away.
Had a breakdown of my HD in Key West. Rear wheel bearing went and damaged the rim beyond repair. Had bike towed to Keys Cycle. Received fabulous service at good prices. Completed job quickly They even had a matching rim in stock. I highly recommend them for service needs before going all way to Miami
As it happens, we've had 2 motorcycles break down over the last couple of years. The first one thanked us for bringing them another motorcycle, and there is Mr. Qualls.
The bike had troubles with the charging system as I told him right before he started calling me a son of a b****. The bike was up and running the very next business day.
In summary, we bent over backwards, rescheduling and juggling motorcycles, so Mr. Qualls could ride the Florida Keys on a Harley Davidson. We want Mr. Qualls to be happy, but we cannot in good conscience provide him with another motorcycle. There's more, but you get the picture I'm sure.
Always a great place. Fuzzy will take great care of anything you need.
Re: T dog,
I wish these guys the best of luck and recommend to treat all customers with respect!
