I've stayed in marthon homes a few times and this one is by far the worst
The air vents in the down stairs room had black mold on then, the small bedroom air condition leaked on the bed... Oh also there is not community bathroom there's 4 bedrooms and a den with a pull out couch only 3 bathrooms which are all in bedrooms...so the 4th bedroom and the person staying on the pull out couch at to go into someone's room in the middle of the night of needed to go. The dock doesn't have stairs, or lights like all the other homes around them. this house could be gorgeous but needs a lot of work!!!
And the manager whom I talked to needs to work on customer service and not yell and hang up on you when your upset about the house being disgusting.
Almost came to blows with the owner Adam. We rented one of his boats for the week. His son dropped the boat off at rental house we stayed at and tied it up to the dock. I unfortunately got the flu and was in bed the entire trip. Never touched, moved, or retied the boat up. We spent $1,200.00 to rent the boat and never was feeling ok to use it. End of the week comes, winds pick up and one of the ropes they tied the boat up with must of come loose. The boat scrapped up against the hard limestone shoreline and did some damage to one of the rear corners of the boat. My wife and I saw the boat was loose and went out and retied what we could to keep it off of the bank. When Adam comes and picks the boat up, he starts accusing me of trying to rip him off and screw him. Telling me its my fault and I didn't tie it up right (remember, I never touched the boat because I was sick all week) I calmly tried to explain what happened and he just stormed around like his favorite pet unicorn got run over. I won't deal with this type of person or company again. If I thought for one second that I had any responsibility, I would gladly pay for any damages. I still paid $1,200 for the boat to sit for a week. I would never trust someone like this if I ever got stranded in one of his boats and needed help. Also, if I would trust how well he maintains his equipment. If there was a couple hundred dollars in repairs and this guy is losing his mind, what are they not maintaining on a regular basis? You have to be able to trust the boat you are in when miles from shore. This last confrontation blew all trust with this company.
Just returned from a vacation in Marathon FL. We booked a home through Conch Realty and it was the worst experience with a rental company I've had since we've been going to Florida for over 25 years. Professionalism isn't a term that they are familiar with at this company. One of the agents, Clare comes across as amicable at first but when it came to money, that southern charm went south. They charge a $225.00 cleaning fee and let me tell you it doesn't cover much. Be prepared to bring your own cleaning supplies because the cleaning service doesn't want to have to do anymore than they need to. Cleaning under the beds apparently isn't included in this either since when I checked to see if my kid dropped anything - it was filthy! And there was an overloaded UPS ready to have a meltdown. Also, one of the reasons for the extra cleaning charge was that the service had to "properly clean and sanitize " a bathroom (only 1 mind you out of 3). So, that's normally not included in the intitial $225.00 fee. So I'd wear flip flops when showering. We noticed some repairs that the house needed and when I mentioned them just in conversation, she told me that I should have called them in. I was taken aback by this statement as they are they management company for this property and they should be going in after each turn over to check on it. After all, we paid $3000 to stay there for the week, and we have to do their job for them?? Even the landscaper for the grounds popped his head in to make sure everything was good. Conch Realty charged our credit card without informing us prior to and when I asked for the actual receipts for some linens that I agreed to compensate them for - they sent me a handwritten one. They insulted and yelled at my family member when they called to find out why their credit card was charged. Clare will not let you speak as she is an over talker so if you have an issue - DO IT IN WRITING (that is if you absolutely have to rent from them). Also, get pictures of any "extra cleaning fee" reasons. Unfortunately for the owners of the beautiful home, this is one place that we will not go back to again because of the PM and to those that we already did recommend it to we've already told to move onto something else. I mean for $3000 a week & an additional $225.00 for a basic cleaning fee, you still have to start the laundry process for them. For it not to include basic cleaning such as under the beds and "proper cleaning" of the bathrooms - I think this is a rip off. Don't bring kids either because the cleaning service will charge you if fingerprints are left on the glass doors. Avoid this company if you can.
Adam Angermann rewarded six years of our loyalty as a vacation rental property owner with excessive rudeness and hostility when we finally got wise and gave our business to a reputable rental agent. So much for thinking you are dealing with friends.
Rented the Oceanview house and it had bed bugs. Ruined the vacation.
Got there and the house was DIRTY... The dishes in the cabinets had food on them the pool and hot tub had dirt and cups at the bottom. Called to tell them and they were absolutely rude!!!! However after I made more calls they finally sent a pool guy and the cleaning ladies to come out. Went to get in the hot tub and it shocks you called them and they said you can't stand on the ground becuase it's not grounded and you have to get in and into the water from the plastic stairs ?? Wth you want me to fly in?? Like really...you can't play pool on the pool table because it's a pos.
