I’m staying here at the Hyatt on business. I have stayed on average of 2 hotels a week since June 2017. As soon as I walked into the hotel there’s been problems. They first started demanding that I call my company’s travel agency to have them send the credit card authorization. I of course done so as this hotel was booked last minute. They used my phone while talking to my company’s travel agency and made me stand there at the desk for about 30-45 minutes. We finally got a key. We get to our room and it literally smelled as if someone had just passed away in there. We look down and there’s a fogger can laying in the floor. The smell was so horrendous that we wouldn’t let the door shut. I immediately went back to the front desk. I talked with a different lady than the one who checked us in, she asked which room, when I told her, her facial expression told me I wasn’t suppose to have that room and headed toward the back. The lady who originally checked me in started apologizing immediately and said she had forgotten and told me she was trying to hold a good view room for us. She gave us another key and never even offered to help us change rooms, which was on different floors. Now, I wake up at 5:30 this morning (well before my alarm was to go off!!) to the smell of dog poop!! Out of all the hotels I’ve been in that allow dogs, I have never smelled the smells I smell from this hotel! I literally want to vomit with every breath I take! I gave the hotel 1 star, for one, because I have to and because it is a beautiful hotel if you can get past the smell of dog and dog poop! (BTW, I own a dog, a Yorkie but I’m not traveling with her.) We are set to check in to the Skipjack Resort tomorrow. I cannot wait to get out of this Hyatt!!!!
Front desk was friendly on occasion. Some clerks yes, others should be fired for the lack of enthusiasm or desire to make you feel welcomed. Decor is not cozy. Like sleeping in an office space. Functional with no frills. Stairwells were filthy. You would think they’d work hard to impress locals who are going to refer travelers! . Food is excellent at the lighthouse grill but expensive.
If you wanna a great place to stay while busting visiting key west stay here not only is it half the price it would cost you to stay in key west but it offers so much more as well. Well to start the staff here is friendly and professional from front desk to the housekeepers and the environment is clean and comfortable. If your taking a family here its got some good advantages like two pools one at the actual hotel and one at the restaraunt located behind the hotel which you can use if your a guest that means you can enjoy a beer or cocktail as your little ones swim. The food at the hotel is great breakfast is fresh and offers many healthy choices the room service food is just as delicious. I highly recommended this place.
Fantastic service the staff is just great and it's the only Hotel that I know of that has a 24/7 service bar where you can get cappuccino ice cream cakes desserts 24/7 right at the front desk!
So far, so so - The place looks really nice, and I personally like the big chess board in the back. Staff here is friendly and most are knowledgeable.
Disappointments - Room doesn't have a microwave. Hotel doesn't have laundry services. I didn't like that on the second floor they have signs for a vending machine but no vending machine. Came down to reception (around 845pm) and gentleman was giving me a canned nonresponsive response. The guy is pleasant and professional, but I personally don't like canned responses. If you don't know, just say so.
